Sometimes, I get scared at how fast time flies by. I know I am still young, but I don’t feel like I should be 19 sometimes. It feels like I was just in Kindergarten, or even high school graduation…nope. Time is going by fast. It’s a weird thing to realize that time is going by so fast. (I’m totally not trying to be depressing or morbid in this post…bear with me…or is it bare with me?)
James 4:14 says How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.
This is encouraging to me. The perfect creator of the Universe allows us to live, love, build, grow, etc while we’re here on earth…but it’s only a short amount of time. Heaven is FOREVER. Eternity. Infinity and beyond (yes, I just used a Toy Story reference) 🙂 That’s exciting you guys! But there’s more.
What’s heartbreaking is that hell is also eternal. It’s a real place…are we using our time here to proclaim the Gospel and show people to Christ, or are we too busy building our temporary homes that we don’t look past our own desires to share with the lost.
I’ve been in college for over a year now, and I feel like my precious time here on this campus is slowly slipping away. I don’t want to take it for granted.
