In a world of constant change, it calms my heart to know that the Gospel of Jesus stays the same.
Death, to life.
Death to life.
Rewind hundreds of years and the message is the same. Death to life.
Redemption. Dry, dead bones to living, breathing, moving bones.
Death to life.
This past Sunday in our “home church” with the MOH staff, Matt spoke on Ezekiel 37 & Ephesians 2 & how Jesus has not only redeemed us, but also commanded us to go & share that life changing news with others. The fact that God chooses and allows us to accomplish His will for His glory amazes me.
Ephesians 2:5-10 // …even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
We show gratitude & worship because the Creator of all things has given us life. He has redeemed us from the pit of destruction, from death, and brought us back to life. This is nothing that we could do. We weren’t “almost dead”, we weren’t “barely living”, we were 100% dead. If we have accepted the free gift of salvation that Jesus Christ offers, we are 100% alive.
Now that is a story I am overwhelmed with gratitude to be a part of.
All praise to Him.
